Pick a color. Pick another.
Eyedropper from the photo, swap to any hex you want. Tolerance slider catches shades; edge softness blends the boundary. Preserve-shading on for natural light, off for graphic-poster flatness. Nothing uploads. For object-aware selection, grab a real editor.

Six places swapping beats reshooting
- 01 for shopping
See a shirt in a different color before buying
Online clothing stores show one color; you wonder what it looks like in another. Drop the product photo, eyedropper the existing shirt color, pick the new shade in Target. Tolerance high enough to catch all the folds; preserve-shading on. The same shirt, your color.
- 02 for real estate
Recolor a wall before painting
Considering paint? Photograph the room, sample the current wall, target the swatch you're considering. The tool gives you a 30-second visualization that beats holding a paint chip up to the wall. Try four target colors before committing to a quart.
- 03 for design
Recolor a logo to match a brand kit
Drop a single-color logo PNG, sample the existing brand color, target the new one. Faster than re-exporting from the original vector — useful when you just need a quick PNG in a different color for a deck or social.
- 04 for cars
See your car in a different color
Considering a paint job, vinyl wrap, or just curious? Sample the car body color (avoid the chrome and shadows), target the new color, preserve shading on. The car's reflections and panels stay accurate; the body shade swaps. Better than imagining.
- 05 for moodboards
Unify an inconsistent set of photos
Mood boards lose impact when one photo's hot pink doesn't match the others' soft pink. Recolor the outlier — sample its pink, target the moodboard's pink. Now all five photos read as one palette.
- 06 for products
Generate color variants from one product photo
Etsy and dropship sellers often only have one good product photo but list multiple color variants. Recolor the master photo for each variant — terracotta version, moss version, kraft version. Faster than reshooting.
Frequently asked
Does the photo upload anywhere? +
No. The pixel-by-pixel color swap runs in your browser. Your photo never touches our servers — we don't run an image pipeline at all.
How does the eyedropper work? +
Click the Eyedropper button, then click anywhere on the photo. The pixel under your click becomes the source color. The eyedropper reads from the original photo, not the recolored preview, so you can keep sampling even after applying a swap.
What does "preserve shading" do? +
When on, the recolored pixels keep their original brightness — shadows stay dark, highlights stay light, just shifted to your target color. When off, every matching pixel becomes a flat target color (cartoon-style). Preserve is the natural choice; flat is good for graphic posters.
My recolor missed shadows or caught too much background — fix? +
Drag tolerance up to catch more variation in the source color (covers shadows and highlights of the same hue). Drag down to be stricter (avoids catching adjacent colors). Edge softness fades the swap at the boundary, hiding hard edges where the swap stops.
How do I recolor a complex pattern (stripes, prints)? +
Pixel-distance matching works best on solid-color regions. Patterned fabrics with multiple colors per inch are harder — you can run the swap multiple times (once per pattern color) to recolor each separately. Or use a more advanced editor with object-aware selection.
Why does my green shirt only partially recolor? +
Real green shirts contain many shades — from deep shadow green to highlight white-green. Tolerance has to be wide enough to cover the full range. Bump it up. If background plants are getting caught at high tolerance, try lower with edge softness 80%+ to feather the unwanted catches.
