A 1994 date on a 2026 photo.
LED red, amber dot-matrix, Kodak yellow, minimal white. Six date formats, four corner snaps, drag to free-position. Pick a date, pick a corner, save the JPG. Nothing uploads. For full polaroid framing, try the Polaroid Maker.

Six places it makes a photo feel anchored
- 01 for nostalgia
A digital photo with a 1996 print-back date
Phone shoots from yesterday gain a strange permanence the moment you stamp them with a yellow Kodak-style date. The shoot doesn't change; the framing does — suddenly it reads as 'documented' instead of 'snapped'. Print, frame, send to your mom.
- 02 for tiktok
A camcorder LED on your aesthetic clip
The TikTok aesthetic of the moment runs on red-LED date stamps in the bottom-right corner — the visual signature of a Sony camcorder. Drop the LED red preset on a still, drag it where you'd expect to see it, and the photo reads as a frame from a home-video clip.
- 03 for journals
A date stamp on a spread without writing it
Scrapbook spreads need dates. Most people write them in by hand, badly. The print-yellow style baked into the photo does it for you — at the same scale as the photo, in the same era. Drop two photos with stamped dates onto a kraft page and the spread is half-done.
- 04 for film
A faux-Polaroid date for a digital photo
The Polaroid Maker tool already adds a red date stamp inside the frame. This tool flips the workflow — keep the photo as-is, drop a date in the corner like a real Polaroid imprint. Subtler, more flexible, works on photos you don't want polaroid-framed.
- 05 for memory
Mark old phone photos with their actual date
Phone EXIF dates are stored, but never visible in the JPG itself. Pull a photo from 2014, stamp the actual date in print-white, save. Now the photo carries its own context — useful when you're sharing on a platform that strips EXIF, or printing for a memory book.
- 06 for design
A typographic date overlay for a poster
Designers use date stamps as type-as-image elements — a way to add a numerical anchor to a layout without a headline. Pick the format ('94 12 25, with the apostrophe), white style, no glow. Reads as found-object typography, not as photo timestamp.
Frequently asked
Does the photo upload anywhere? +
No. Everything renders to a canvas in your browser. Your photo never touches our servers — we don't run an image pipeline at all.
Why are there no fancy LED fonts? +
We use system monospace because it works everywhere with no font download. The LED look comes from the color, the glow shadow, and the letterspacing — not from a 7-segment display font. The result reads as period-correct without a 200KB font file.
Can I move the stamp? +
Yes. Click any corner button (TL, TR, BL, BR) to snap to that corner. To free-position, click and drag the stamp directly on the canvas — once you do, the corner buttons stop snapping until you click one again.
How do I match a real camcorder date format? +
Sony Handycam-era LED dates look like ’94 12 25 (apostrophe-prefixed two-digit year, then month and day with spaces). Pick that format, the LED red style, bottom-right corner — exactly what a Hi8 tape would have shown.
Will the stamp survive Instagram compression? +
Mostly yes. The text is rendered into the JPG before upload, so IG can't strip it as metadata. The glow may soften slightly under heavy compression — bumping size to 5–6% (instead of the default 4%) keeps it readable.
Can I use a fake date that's in the future? +
Yes — the date picker accepts any date. The stamp is purely cosmetic, not a metadata field. Useful for fictional projects, fake-history posts, designed timelines, or just deciding the photo deserved a different decade.
